Every repair shop has your photos, messages and work files in its hands. This is what we do with them, written down so it can be checked line by line.
We ask, we do not browse
A device is opened and tested for the fault. Nobody reads your messages, opens your photos or copies your files, and no device is photographed for our own use.
Back up before you hand it in
Do this yourself if the device still turns on. If it does not, tell us what matters most and we will treat data recovery as the first job, not the last.
Your passcode is for testing
We may need it to test after the repair. It is removed at handover in front of you, before the device leaves the counter.
A wipe is never silent
If a repair requires a reset, we tell you first and get your agreement. If the device cannot be repaired, we tell you what state it is in before you pay anything.
No copy is kept
We do not keep images of your device or copies of your data after handover — not for “reference”, and not for the workshop wall.
“Original screen” is the most misused phrase in this trade. This is what we fit, and what it means for your device.
What we fit, written down
Every job sheet names the part: manufacturer original, original pulled from another unit, or an aftermarket part. If it is aftermarket, you are told before we order it.
Third-party parts change warranties
An aftermarket screen is cheaper and usually fine; it is also not made by the manufacturer. On some devices it affects features such as colour accuracy or water resistance, and we say so before you decide.
In warranty? Go to the manufacturer
If the device is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, a third-party repair can void it. We will tell you to go back to them, even though it costs us the job.
We keep the old part
The part we removed is bagged and returned with the device, so you can see what came out and check the claim yourself.
Before you approve anything
What it costs, and when we stop.
The diagnosis fee is credited against the repair. If the repair turns out to cost more than the quote, work stops and you get a call.
Illustrative concept pricing. Counter bands for a phone or laptop up to four years old, with the figure fixed on the job sheet before any work starts.

After the repair
The warranty, in plain words.
Ninety days on the part and the work
If the same fault returns within the period, the repair is redone at no charge. The period is written on your job sheet, not implied.
Not covered
New physical damage, liquid damage after the repair, and unrelated faults that appear later. A screen replaced after a drop is not a warranty claim on the drop.
What voids it
Another shop opening the device, a repair attempted at home, or a replacement part fitted elsewhere. That includes a battery you changed yourself.
Uncollected devices
Devices left more than 90 days after two written reminders are disposed of securely, with any storage media destroyed. That is on your job sheet from the first day.
Three counter jobs
What the bench records, and what it costs.
BENCH DETAIL / BOARD-LEVEL FIRST
Laptop board-level · quoted as two figures
Scope: one laptop, liquid damage · drive imaged first · 2–4 days · no attempt without an agreed figure
A laptop that took a drink needs the drive taken out and copied before anyone starts cleaning the board. Where the board is past economic repair the answer is a data recovery fee and a replacement recommendation, not a two-week board job that costs more than the machine.
What the job sheet carried ↗
The fault as reported, the condition the laptop arrived in, the drive imaged to two destinations before the board was touched, and two figures in writing: recover the data, or attempt the board. The client approved recovery only, and nothing was raised for a board attempt that was never authorised.
PARTS BENCH / PHONE SCREEN AND BATTERY
Phone screen and battery · S$120 and S$75 fitted
Per device · part grade named on the job sheet before it is ordered · usually same day
Screen assemblies and batteries are the two jobs that come through this counter most, and both are quoted with the grade of part written down before anything is ordered.
What the sheet says about the part ↗
Manufacturer original, an original pulled from another unit of the same model, or an aftermarket part — named before it is ordered, with the ninety-day warranty period beside it. The old part is bagged and goes back with the phone.
PARTS RETURN / WARRANTY CLAIM
The part that came out · returned with the device
Every repair · no charge · a warranty claim is checked against it
A removed screen, battery or port board is bagged at the bench and handed back with the device, so the part you paid for can be looked at.
Where a pulled part is recorded ↗
A pulled original is written on the job sheet as pulled, with the unit it came from, and is never described as new. An aftermarket part is named as aftermarket before it is fitted, not after it fails.
Every job above is written the way the counter writes it: the fault, the part grade, the figure and the warranty period. The job sheet goes home with the device, and no work starts before the figure is agreed.
Intake, diagnose, approve, hand over.
Intake
The fault, the device’s condition and the passcode, logged on a job sheet.
Diagnose
Fault confirmed and priced. The fee is credited if you go ahead.
Approve
No work starts without your agreement on the figure, in writing.
Hand over
Working device, the old part, the warranty terms and your data left alone.
A clearer starting point
What is wrong with it?
Pick the closest description. It starts the right conversation instead of a general enquiry.
01Dropped, cracked or not charging +
Say what happened, whether the device still turns on and charges, and whether it has been opened or repaired before. That changes what we quote.
Tell us the model, its age and what it was doing before it stopped. For anything over four years old, ask us whether the repair is worth it before you spend.
Stop using the device now. Every further write reduces the chance of recovery. Bring the drive or the phone in for assessment before attempting anything at home.
“They wrote on the sheet which screen they were fitting and what it would cost me in warranty. Nobody had ever told me that before.”

The practical questions
Before you leave it here.
Will you look at my photos and messages?+
No. The device is opened and tested for the fault and nothing else on it is read, opened or copied. Back up first where the device still turns on, and the passcode comes off at the counter in front of you. Nothing from your device is kept after handover — no image of it, no copy of its data.
Are the parts genuine?+
You are told which part is being fitted before it is ordered: manufacturer original, an original pulled from another unit of the same model, or an aftermarket part. Aftermarket screens and batteries are common and can be perfectly good, but they are not the manufacturer’s part, and on some devices they change water resistance or display behaviour. That is on the sheet before you decide, not after.
What if it cannot be repaired?+
You pay the diagnosis and nothing else: no labour for work that did not happen. The fee is credited against the repair when you go ahead, and the condition the device comes back in is stated on the job sheet before it is handed over.
How long is the repair guaranteed?+
Ninety days on the part and the work, with exclusions for new damage, liquid damage after the repair and unrelated faults. The period, what voids it and how a claim is made are all printed on your job sheet at handover.
