Strength you
can keep.

Small classes, a stated level for each one, and pack terms you can read before you pay. We would rather you came twice a week for a year than every day for a month.

What the levels mean

So you know which
class to book.

“All levels welcome” usually means the class suits the teacher. Ours are labelled, and moving up is a decision you and the instructor make together.

L1

Level 1 — foundations

Learning the equipment, the breathing and the basic positions. No experience needed, including if you have never stepped on a reformer.

L2

Level 2 — building load

Longer sequences, more spring resistance and single-leg work. You should be able to hold a plank and a side plank and be comfortable on the reformer.

L3

Level 3 — strength focus

Heavier springs, controlled speed and standing work on the reformer. Expect it to be demanding and expect to be corrected.

How

Moving up

Ask the instructor after a class, or at the eight-week check. A move up is agreed on how you actually move, not on how many classes you have bought.

The three disciplines

What a class
involves.

Who teaches

Certified, and
in the room.

CERTIFIED

Pilates instructors

Six instructors, each certified in mat and reformer work through a recognised pilates school, with two continuing-education days a year that the studio pays for. The certificates and the renewal dates are in the folder at the desk and we hand it over on the trial visit.

Mei Lin Chan teaches level 3 and has been on this floor for nine years. Each instructor’s certification, specialism and the levels they take is printed on the card beside the desk.
SCREENED

Before your first class

A short screening covers injuries, surgery, pregnancy and anything your doctor has told you to avoid. It changes what the instructor gives you, not whether you can join.

Two of the six are also qualified in pre- and postnatal work and take the screening appointments for those members.

Before you commit

Packs, and what
they commit you to.

The price is the easy part. The terms — expiry, pausing, and what happens when you miss a class — sit on the same rows as the prices, and they do not change after you buy.

Three ways to train here

Reformer, mat,
and the pack that holds them.

Every class has a stated level and a stated cap, and the pack carries its own validity, its pause and its cancellation window on the same row as the price.

REFORMER / 50 MIN / MAX 8

Reformer pilates, level 1 to 3

Class / 50 minutes / Maximum eight / S$45 a class

What the levels mean in practice

Level 1 is the equipment, the breathing and the basic positions, with no experience assumed — including no reformer experience. Level 2 adds spring resistance and single-leg work, and you should be able to hold a plank first. Level 3 is heavier springs and standing work. Moving up is agreed with the instructor after a class or at the eight-week check, never bought.

MAT AND MOBILITY / 45 MIN / MAX 10

Mat and mobility, between reformer days

Class / 45 minutes / Maximum ten / Same pack, same rate

Why the mat class exists

Joint mobility, controlled stretching and mat work, which is what most members use it for: the day after a reformer class, or the week a shoulder is stiff. It is also the softer entry point, and it runs on the same pack at the same rate, so switching between the two costs nothing.

TEN-CLASS PACK / VALID SIX MONTHS

A pack with its terms on it

Pack / 10 classes / Six months / S$390

What the pack commits you to

Six months from the first class, one pause of up to a month on notice, and a twelve-hour cancellation window on every class in it. Sessions are personal and are not transferred or shared. The trial class is not deducted from the pack — it is the cheapest way to find out whether you like the reformer at all.

Trial, screen, level, review.

  1. Trial class

One class at your likely level, so you know what you are buying.

  2. Screening

Injuries, restrictions and goals recorded before the first regular class.

  3. Train

Twice a week where possible, at a level you can actually hold.

  4. Review

Every eight weeks: same level, move up, or change discipline.

Never trained before

Say so. Level 1 exists for this, and the trial class is the cheapest way to find out whether you like the reformer at all.

The practical questions

Before your
first class.

How many people are in a class?

Eight on a reformer and ten on a mat, and the cap is printed on the level sheet as well as on the timetable. That is the reason the instructor can correct you twice in a class instead of once.

I have never done pilates. Is that a problem?

No. Level 1 assumes no experience, including no reformer experience. What matters is telling the instructor about any injury, surgery or pregnancy before the class rather than during it.

Do packs expire?

A ten-class pack runs six months from the first class and can be paused once for up to a month. Both numbers are on the pack row and again in the terms under the timetable, and the twelve-hour cancellation window applies to every class in the pack.

What if I have an injury or I am pregnant?

Tell us at screening and bring what your doctor or physiotherapist has advised. Some classes will not suit you yet, and it is better to hear that before you book than in the room.
